Ben Coopwood, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in Surgery and Perioperative Care at the Dell Medical School. He is also heads up a new burn program at the Dell Seton Medical Center that can treat patients who have burns covering less than 30 percent of their bodies.
Coopwood earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston with a degree in Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine. After residency, he moved to Austin and practiced general and trauma/acute care surgery. Coopwood is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery.
